5 Km from Avantika ( Ujjain), there is an ancient and miraculous site, the Shri Vikrant Bhairav Temple, in Bhairavgad on the eastern bank of the Shipra River. It is situated at the Okhaleshwar cremation ground at some distance in front of the Kaal Bhairav temple. It is said that in ancient times, Bhairav himself resided here, and many accomplished practitioners and tantric adepts attained various mystical powers near this temple. According to the legends of Avantika, Lord Bhairav himself blessed this place with all kinds of achievements after performing worship here. The renowned tantric Baba Dabral also achieved many accomplishments here.
